We all know of the "famous" death of Rurik which is done in the last mission, Hell's Precipice.
Well, except for Hundred Blades (elite) that not too many people favor, why not have him drop a Green Fiery Dragon Sword: Something like..
Rurik's Sword
Fiery Damage 11-22 dmg req 9
15% more dmg, -5 energy
+30 Health

or some things can be changed, but whatever wouldn't it be nice for the second to last major boss in the game drop a green?

The idea that varesh doesnt drop a scythe and rurik doesnt drop a sword seems like such a waste of an opportunity to me. I think they both should!

Well obviously you havent been around since the release of GW.

The problem I see with that is that he is a fairly large scale boss, hes a big deal. And was around WAY before greens. While the addition of the forgotton fans and totem axe in prophecies was a big step, that area wasnt being visited at all so an addtion was inviting

Plus.. That's just asking for "4-man Rurik team"
Nice idea, but hardly practical.

Nah... I would just plainly add an 'after campaign' area, like in the other two campigns, somwthing small. With a guy giving you the a collector item, and some collectors for all classes.

Why don't they add a collector in Droks? I actually think since the addition of end-game greens in the other chapters, Proph should have it too.

I don't see if why he shouldn't drop a green.

And maybe he should drop it every time he dies, like [wiki]Rotscale[/wiki]. (Of course if you had henchies it might not drop) And this would give people a little reason to beat Proph past Ember Light Camp.

And I love the fiery dragon sword skin but I've not got a perfect one so I WANT IT

Do any bosses drop greens during missions?

I don't see this is needed but if greens drop during any other mission I've got no good reason why not.

Prince Rurik uses a sword so cool it can't be added or it would add an imbalance to the game, its a Sundering Fiery Zealous Dragon Sword of Enchanting Fortitude, thats 15% dmg +5 energy 25% armor penetration, 2x dmg while fighting everything thanks to fire pwning so much, 2 energy per hit +1 regen, enchants last 30% longer and +600 health.... so yeah i'd so use that

sarcasm aside it would be nice for a "Prince Ruriks FDS" green

of course there were no greens when Proph was originally designed, but it might breathe a little more life back into it. There are some others that probably should too, like Confessor Dorian, Markis, and Glint.

the only problem is that no missions have bosses which greens (there's a rare exception in Factions), and this is probably by intent: people farming the greens leaving after the boss is killed, leaving people who wanted to complete the mission in the lurch. So the bosses I mentioned are end-of-mission bosses.

A similar system as in Factions and Nightfall would certainly motivate me to finish those missions with the remainder of my characters...

Yes, you finish Nightfall and Cantha, you get end-game credits, adulation from the masses, your choice of a great green item.

You finish Prophecies and who cares? The Tyrians couldn't give a damn. And Glint just gets you off to fight another bunch of Titans.

I haven't fought them all though. Maybe I get a great green then? Or some real fancy armour?

Maybe. Could have been another secret update ANet snuck in behind our backs... You never know until you try. And then you try and don't get anything. So you go try and draw a picture of your character to make yourself feel better about life but you mess up on the face. Then you get upset and go play Mario Kart Double Dash and lose and be emo for three days before you realize you have a test on Wednesday in Art History and you're like, "What?! I don't remember a test?!" But you study for it anyways and end up barely passing...

My idea.

All bosses in Factions and Nightfall have a green item linked and they can drop it.

Prophecies came before this idea, so the only bosses dropping greens are those in Sorrow Furnace and ToPK.

But now that hard mode is coming, and it seems that hard mode will affect all 3 campaigns, it would be a good occasion for A.net to create new greens in Prophecies, one for each existing boss, which can be dropped when you enter the area/mission in hard mode.

Just my 2 cents.

If the end boss weapons (Lich(maybe offhand, just the gem)and Abaddon need one too then) have the "old" bossglow (just to show it's the big baddy weapon and not just some drop) I'm a sucker for looks. /signed

Varesh isn't even remotely similar. Nobody really goes on about her. Rurik has popularity (in a very leeroying wammo way). Her scythe isn't really anything special. Rurik dropping a green FDS would just be awesome
